What is the Rock Project Tour?

Access Fund and Black Diamond Equipment are taking the stoke on the road with the 2015 ROCK Project Tour, a six-stop event tour to US climbing hot spots. Professional athletes, indoor climbing gyms, and local climbing advocacy organizations will team up to host a series of exclusive, multi-day events, including climbing clinics, presentations, stewardship projects, and parties.

  • Friday, April 10th at REI Millcreek
    • Evening: Athlete Presentations, Meet & Greet
  • Saturday, April 11th at Momentum Sandy
    • Day: Climbing Clinics taught by BD Athletes and Momentum staff
    • Evening: Fundraising Party to support Access Fund & Salt Lake Climbers Alliance
    • Momentum Sandy closed all day to members and public!
  • Sunday, April 12th (Day)
    • Crag Care event in Little Cottonwood Canyon

Tell me more about the Clinics!

Momentum Sandy is proud to behosting indoor climbing clinics on Saturday, April 11, 2015 as part of this great event. Clinic participants will choose between three curriculums (Sport, Trad, and Bouldering) and will learn new skills, with instruction provided by Black Diamond athletes, Momentum staff, and other local partners.

Sport Climbing: ROCK Project Curriculum: The Pact in Practice, Clipping techniques, stick clipping, anchor cleaning, communication, safety basics, systems and skills to reduce your impact.

Trad Climbing: ROCK Project Curriculum: The Pact in Practice, racking systems, rock protection, communication, multi-pitch change-overs, crack climbing technique, systems and skills to reduce your impact, mental training.

Bouldering: ROCK Project Curriculum: The Pact in Practice, dial in your technique (compression to crimpers, overhangs to slabs), pad placement, projecting, training basics, systems and skills to reduce your impact.

Please note that Momentum Sandy will be closed to members and to the public all day on Saturday, April 11th in order to host this event.

How do I sign up to attend?

Purchasing a weekend ticket for the Rock Project Tour provides participants access to Friday’s presentations, Saturday’s climbing clinics, admission to the Fundraising Party on Saturday night, and a service project in the Wasatch on Sunday.


What if I just want to attend the Fundraising Party?

The Fundraising Party on Saturday evening is open to all current Access Fund/Salt Lake Climbers Alliance members, plus anyone who purchases a Weekend Ticket for the Rock Project Tour. Not a member? Sign up during the Fundraising Party and help support local climbing initiatives and stewardship. More details about the Fundraising Party coming soon!
