Dear Friends of Momentum,
Given the continued escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic and recommendations by state and federal officials to avoid even small-sized gatherings, Momentum must extend its current gym closures in order to do our part in reducing opportunities for community spread.
Momentum is more than just a gym, it is a place for us to meet old friends and make new ones, relieve stress, and strengthen our bodies and minds. We understand that in difficult times, it is even more important for us to seek this type of well being, which makes this decision even more difficult. Ultimately, we have a responsibility to help protect the health of our community and believe that a closure is the most responsible step we can take.
- Those of you who would like to opt in to continue to pay your monthly dues as a donation to support Momentum, please CLICK HERE.
You may also opt in to donate a monthly amount of your choosing, rather than paying your regular membership dues.
Monthly donation opt-in’s can be canceled at any time.
- Members who do not opt in will NOT be charged monthly dues until we reopen.
- Autopay members will automatically be frozen and the monthly freeze fee will be waived.
- Credits will be calculated for the March 15th to April 14th billing month instead of two weeks as previously planned, and we will apply those credits automatically to autopay members before we bill again in the future.
- Pre-paid memberships will have their expiration date extended accordingly no action is required from you.
Business closure has already exacted a toll on Momentum, as it has on climbing gyms and other industries around the globe. After providing two weeks of paid leave to support all of our employees during the course of our initial closure, Momentum has subsequently had to make the most difficult decision in our company history; the implementation of temporary lay-offs throughout the company. We are deeply saddened to have had to take this step because our employees – our friends – are both the backbone and heart of our company. We are still committed to these employees and will be maintaining benefit coverage to those who were laid off for as long as possible. We have currently reduced our staff to a core group of managers who are working hard to keep the business functioning until we can re-open our doors and are able to rehire the larger team.Through these difficult times we are so thankful and humbled by the support, and willingness to help, that our community has expressed over the past week. The feelings of unity and resiliency present in the community at this time are truly uplifting. As Momentum faces a closure that will last an unknown length of time, the need for your ongoing and continued support is even more critical. If you feel you are financially able, please consider opting to allow Momentum to continue to run billing and process your membership dues as a monthly donation. Your generous, ongoing donation will help ensure we have the team and the resources needed to open our doors again as soon as safely possible.

One of the things that drives so much passion in climbers is the joy we find in pushing our limits to overcome new challenges. This fortitude, perseverance, and grit is what makes our community so special. We will need all of that and more now, to face this unprecedented challenge together. Please continue to wash your hands, practice social distancing, and follow other CDC guidelines to help fight the spread of the virus. We strongly encourage all climbers to help flatten the curve and err on the side of caution. Here’s how you can help: ACCESS FUND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLIMBERS
Stay Healthy – Stay Positive – Stay in contact with Friends and Family
Please remember that the easiest way to combat the spread of all communicable illnesses is to observe the following basic health and hygiene recommendations:
WASH YOUR HANDS with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 70% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Do not cough, sneeze, or talk directly into another person’s face.
Give each other extra space whenever possible
Please stay home if you feel sick.
Any signs of fever, cough, shortness of breath please see a medical professional. And as courtesy to others if you do have any of these signs please avoid public spaces, including Momentum until a doctor has confirmed you not do have COVID-19.
