Momentum's Lead Climbing Classes

Have you been at Momentum and watched in wonder as experienced lead climbers move confidently and skillfully up the huge curving walls? Ever seen a climber lunge for a hold, miss, and drop safely to the end of the rope, stopped softly by an experienced lead-belayer?

Momentum has 7,000 square feet of the best indoor lead climbing terrain in the world, just waiting for you. If you have been top-roping for long enough to get your skills up to 5.10, you should consider “going live.” The feeling you get being on the “sharp end” for the first time is one you’ll never forget. Our lead climbing instructors will help you learn to lead quickly and safely, with good habits you can apply to harder and harder routes as your skill grows.

Curriculum

During two 90-minute sessions, you will be coached on clipping, belaying, belayer positioning, rope management and safe leading practices. Our instructors will help you stay safe while you are leading, and show you how to give a safe “soft catch” belay to any partner you rope up with.

Pricing

The Lead Climbing Class is for one or two students; however, single students must provide their own Momentum certified partner.  Students under 16 must get prior approval from Momentum before attempting to take and certify through the lead class.
